MILE STONES
La Fun Motel
Provided tax increment funding to acquire the property and cover the costs of revegetation and demolition to help the redevelopment of the blighted site.
Adam’s Mountain Cafe Remodel and Expansion
Through tax increment financing (TIF) provided financial offsets to the cost of remodel and expansion of the updated Adams Mountain Cafe on Manitou Avenue.
Pike Ride Station
In alignment with City of Manitou Springs climate action goals, funded installation of Pike Ride e-bike station in front of Quality Inn at Manitou Avenue and Beckers Lane.
Pollination Station
In alignment with City Council’s Resolution Establishing the Commitment to Have a Sustainable Environment and An Ambitious Response to Climate Change for the City of Manitou Springs, MSURA funds were used to cover the cost of planters, plantings and regular maintenance of free standing planters located along Manitou Avenue near the intersection with Beckers Lane. Since there is inadequate room to plant trees within the road right-of-way, the planters also provide visual relief from the hardscape of the Avenue The mission of the Manitou Pollinators and Pollination Station is “to enhance the natural environment of Manitou Springs and make it a more pollinator friendly city.”
NEW Holiday Inn Express Featuring EV Charging Station
Featuring EV Charging Station: tax increment financing (TIF) provided financial assistance to build out the new Holiday Inn Express and install an electric vehicle (EV) charging station also in alignment with Manitou Springs carbon footprint initiatives. Property tax revenue generated from the increased value of the property were used to offset extraordinary redevelopment costs.
Art on the Streets
In partnership with CRANE (Creative Alliance Manitou Springs), funded the acquisition of multiple community sculptural art pieces throughout the corridor as part of the ” Spirit of Manitou Springs” project.

Beckers Lane Improvements
Provided funding to reduce flooding potential, improve pedestrian safety by adding sidewalks, lighting and streetscape upgrades, rebuild Beckers Lane, improve new Marcy Morrison Bridge including mosaic tile art panel installation.
East Entry Plaza
MSURA developed an entry plaza by the east entry arch that includes interpretive information, art pieces, lighting, landscaping and seating. The plaza marks the entrance to Manitou Springs by car and the multi-use trail along Fountain Creek.
